I am wondering how do I choose a GPS survey equipment. With most manufacturers or sellers claiming that their product is the best, it is hard to know which one to buy. What can you recommend?

An answer to this question can’t be very specific, since GPS survey equipment comes in various price ranges and with various features. So the best thing for you depends a lot on your specific needs, because there’s no need to pay extra for features or capabilities you do not need. I would say that a good starting point is trying to do a bit of research on GIS and GPS forums and see what people recommend or ask them directly. Also, look up some reviews on the internet to get a general idea and limit see what you think would be best suited for you and then ask about those models specifically.
From my experience, Trimble and Leica are decent manufacturers but the offer out there is generous enough.
