Question by : Cannot Determine Location – iPhone GPS?
I bought this iPhone 4 on my trip to the US last month and only realized when I got home that it didn’t have a SIM slot. Pretty stupid of me, but I’m using it as an iPod and I’m generally satisfied, except for one thing.

GPS wont work for some reason. The phone is updated to iOS 5, Maps cannot determine location and iGO can’t acquire GPS access. Keep in mind that I do not have SIM card present, could that cause the problems? Also I’m using phone in Airplane mode, but I tried without it, same thing happens.

What could cause this, except a broken GPS receiver? What are the chances that it’s a hardware problem?

it happens sometimes.. but give it some time and if it still happens go into the apple store and ask them.. it is most likely not the hardware…. try turning the phone on/off
